Invisible Light

Invisible Light

Electromagnetic: the production of magnetism by electricity and the production of electricity by magnets

Electromagnetic spectrum: all the wavelenghts of invisible light in order from short to long

Laser: a device that produces a thin stream of light of just a few close wavelenghts

Colors of Light

Colors of Light

Prism: a cut of clear glass with 2 opposite sides in the shape of a triangle or other geometric shape.

Sprectrum: a band of colors produced when light goes through a prism.

Primary color: red, green,or blue; mixing these colors can produce all the colors of the spectrum.

Primary pigment: magenta, cyan , yellow ; material with any of these colors absorbs one primary color of light and reflects the other two.

Light ad Lenses

Light and Lenses

Opaque: completely blocking light from passing through

Transparent: letting all light through , so that objects on the other side can be see clearly

Translucent: letting only some light through, so that objects on the other light blurry

Polarization: allowing light vibrations to pass through in only one direction

Reflaction: the bending of light ray as they pass from one substance into another

Covex lens: a lens that curves outward and brings light rays together

Concave lens: a lens that curves inward and spreads light rays apart.

Light and Mirrors

Introduction: In this album is called Light and Mirrors ,light is electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength that is visible to the human eye,
and the mirrors is an object with at least one reflective surface.

Bioluminescence: light produced by living organisms.

Light ray: a straight-line beam of a light as it travels outward from its source.

Law of Reflection: the angle of an incoming light ray equals the angle of the reflected ray.

Concave mirror: a mirror that curves in on the shiny side.

Convex mirror: a mirror that curves out on the shiny side.
